Major Grow House Taken Down in Lehigh Acres

On November 5, 2014, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit Detectives acted on an anonymous tip regarding two residences in Lehigh Acres actively growing marijuana.

The residences were identified as 230 Narcissus Avenue South, Lehigh Acres, and 1111 Chiefland Street East, Lehigh Acres.

Detectives obtained search warrants for both residences and discovered an elaborate marijuana grow operation to include artificial lighting and climate control used to cultivate the plants.

A total of 190 plants combined (weights pending) were recovered from 1111 Chiefland Street East and 230 Narcissus Avenue South with an approximate street value of $570,000.00.

Gilberto Padilla (DOB 12-20-59) was located at 230 Narcissus Avenue South and was charged with trafficking marijuana and cultivation of marijuana.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
