158 Pounds of Marijuana Recovered in Lehigh Acres Grow House Bust

On December 18th, 2014, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call stating that there was a suspicious smell coming from the residence at 236 South Lake Drive in Lehigh Acres.

Deputies from the East District responded. Upon the approach to the house, deputies stated that they could smell the strong odor of marijuana. Upon knocking on the door, and not receiving an answer, deputies notified Narcotics Unit Detectives.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property. Upon serving the search warrant, detectives discovered 65 marijuana plants throughout the residence. Deputies also determined that suspects were pouring gasoline onto the driveway in an attempt to mask the smell of the marijuana.

An estimated combined weight of 158 lbs. of marijuana was recovered.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
